Good bye July and hello August

Who is it only me but did the month of July just past us all right on by???? Honestly I have no idea how 31 days just went so quickly. August will be a big month for us. We are planning a 2 week trip to Alabama and Florida to look at southern schools for my older daughter.

Summer Running

Had a terrific run this morning with Haley... She pushed me to run longer and faster. Gosh I wish I had her youth!!! We were out on the roads before 6am and I think it made all the difference in the world....

The Vineyard

Can any one place recharge your life? I have been in a slump lately but running everyday along the coast and spending everyday on the beach has recharged me.

Independance Day at Gillette Stadium

Haley and I ran the Harvard Pilgrim 10k today. It was a lot of fun. The race started outside Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots and finished on the teams 50 yard line. It was a terrific well run race and we had a blast! We will run this one again next year for sure!

Happy Birthday Running Partner

Today is the 14th year of life for my wonderful daughter. We have been so blessed to have her in our life. What can you say about a precious gift that can only have come from God. Did I also mention that she is my favorite running partner and am so proud of her each and everytime she crosses the finish line!
Oh and by the way, the top picture is Haley from her 8th grade graduation and the bottom picture is the first race she ever ran when she was in 2nd grade. She won a prize in her age division. Yep I am proud!!!

20 Miles this week

Trying to run 20 miles this week. I am getting closer. Going into the weekend with 12.5 miles and it should be a decent running weekend! Let's hope by Sunday night I have a 29 miler week!

Really bad day

Woke up early this morning to go for a run.And I was right it was the only highlight of my day. I knew it was going to be a difficult day because last night I had been at a wake. My poor friend Marianne(who teaches right next door to me) has lost 3 members of her family in the last week. Yes, I said week. Her uncle was hit and killed while crossing the street to join his wife at a restaurant. Her mother in law got ammonia and was dead within 24 hours. Then her mother who went into the hospital for a routine procedure never recovered and died.
To make matters even worse Patty(my 4th grade teaching friend) who was a cervical cancer survivor discovered today that the cancer had spread to her lungs and chest. Honestly to was a bad day and I truly cannot put a positive spin on any of it.
